we shall overcome

We shall overcome, we shall overcome,

We shall overcome someday;

Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,

We shall overcome someday.

As the Deer" is a praise and worship hymn based on Ps42:1

As the deer panteth for the water

So my soul longeth after thee
You alone are my heart's desire

And I long to worship thee

You alone are my strength, my shield

To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire

And I long to worship thee

God weeps - central united church windsor

God weeps at love withheld, at strength misused,

at children's innocence abused,

and till we change the way we love, God weeps.

God bleeds at anger's fist, at trust betrayed

at women battered and afraid,

and till we change the way we win, God bleeds.

God cries at hungry mouths, at running sores

at creatures dying without cause

and till we change the way we care,  God cries.

God waits for stones to melt, for peace to seed,

for hearts to hold each other's need,

and till we understand the Christ,   God waits.

All the Way My Saviour Leads Me

All the way my Savior leads me
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His faithful mercies?
Who through life has been my guide
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort
Ere by faith in Him to dwell
For I know whate'er fall me
Jesus doeth all things well .

Holy, Holy, Holy (lord god almighty)

I will rejoice for he has made me glad

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Great Things

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Let the earth hear His voice
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Let the people rejoice
Come to the Father
Through Jesus the Son
Give Him the glory
Great things He has done

January 10, 2020 - Just music this week

Top Ten Hymns for 2020 as chosen by a vote on BBC's Songs of Praise program. Congregation and vocalist singing together. An excellent production.

What A Friend We Have in Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Great is Thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be
Great is Thy faithfulness, great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
